AURÉLIE MATHIGOT

Trained in Art History and
philosophy at the Sorbonne, and a graduate of the Fine Arts of Aix en Provence,
Aurélie Mathigot lives and works in Paris.
The contemporary visual artist
Aurélie Mathigot has brought up to date a historical art, that of
embroidery and crochet.
In 2012, she received the Grand Prix de la création in the arts and crafts category from the city of Paris.
Her artistic approach is not only playful, she questions the notions of overabundance, of the time that escapes us.
To represent this and accentuate
problem, Aurélie uses techniques that require
a lot of time in their execution, artisanal techniques,
from everyday life.
